Kokoro Joy

Sometimes an object makes me smile, allowing a moment of joy. Ingo Maurer lighting almost universally achieves this for me. This morning we lit Kokoro and I realized how much it was needed. My heart leapt; it is perfect.

Kokoro by Ingo Maurer, $1745.00

The Kokoro is from Maurer’s MaMo Nouchies series. It reminds me of a dancer it sways a bit, a heart shaped reflector sends a little beam of love across the room. This might be its moment.

Holiday Gift Idea: Ingo Maurer My New Flame

My New Flame is a distinctive 'candle' that never burns down. The stunning combination of high-tech and poetic expression is an idea of Moritz Waldemeyer. At the upper end of a sleek black circuit board, a candle flame seems to flicker in the wind. Up close, you perceive a double-sided rectangular display made of 128 tiny LEDs per side, which renders the image of a burning flame.
