New at Inform: Knoll Barber Osgerby Sofa

A notable new arrival in our showroom this month is the well tailored sofa from Knoll pictured above, described as a “calm” design by it’s creators Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.

Shown with the subtly stylish orange leg detail, this generously proportioned and luxurious sofa is both architectural and comfortable, attributes few sofas are able to blend successfully within a single design.

*Spotted* DS 600 by de Sede

At Inform, we're always tuned in and excited to see our products out in the world. We love seeing a great chair in the background of an architectural photoshoot; all the classics on the Mad Men set; a movie scene with phenomenal lighting. Some people might miss these details, but if you're reading this, we're betting that you also take note.

This is our first installation of *Spotted* where we share our finds with you.

The Hunger Games opened recently with an astounding $155 million at the box office. Check out the de Sede DS-600 sofa that Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson and the rest of the cast are lounging on.

The DS-600 is nicknamed the "Endless Sofa" because you can zip the elements together, curving to create a stunning installation, until you have the longest sofa in the world. This iconic piece was designed by Ueli Berger, Elenora Peduzzi-Riva, Heinz Ulrich, Klaus Vogt for de Sede, in Switzerland.

New at Inform! Arper

In just a couple of weeks we will have a whole slew of pieces from Arper, a wonderful contract furniture line out of Italy. I love their lines and style and I think you will too! I also love their philosophy on what their designs will bring to you and your life. "Arper's vision aims at improving the quality of life by paying attention to quality, safety and the environment. We offer seating and table solutions that make your living spaces more welcoming, adding style and comfort to your day, whether in the office or at home."

Their continued committment to the environment and lessening their impact on the globe as a manufacturer is also another reason why Arper is in the top ten of my favorite companies. "Arper aims at minimising environmental impact with policies involving every single phase of the company's life. Arper has developed a Product Stewardship program inspired by the company environmental approach. As part of this principle, all those involved in a product life cycle share responsibility for the impacts on human health and Nature in the course of managing the phases of production, use and end-of-life."

Here is a preview of what you will see arriving into our Contract space in the next couple of weeks.

New from Bensen!

Of all of the product lines we carry here at Inform (and that is alot, let me tell you - my brain is bursting!), Bensen is one of my favorites. It hails from Vancouver, BC and is the genius of Niels Bendtsen. Everyone of us here at Inform own a piece from Bensen - from mirrors to sofas to beds. The spectrum of products that this company produces is amazing. What is even more impressive is the amount of time and thought that goes into each one. Each detail on a piece is looked at and worked out - there is not a time when I ask myself, why did they do that? Bensen even takes it a step further - the packaging of the pieces is what it should be for every furniture and lighting company out there.

Here are two new pieces that round out the already impressive collection, one of which is at the top of my purchase list - sofas are like shoes, right, you can never have too many?

Bensen Edward - coming soon to the Inform showroom!

Bensen Brix is a modular stacking drawer system that can be arranged in almost endless configurations. Now at the Inform showroom!
